The FIA World Endurance Championship is where careers are forged at 300 km/h and where my own story took its biggest turns. For those discovering the site through the racing pages, here is what WEC means to me and to #TeamThiim.
Endurance racing is a different species from sprint championships. Twenty-four hours at Le Mans, six hours at Spa, Fuji at night in the rain, the races test machinery, teamwork and the driver's ability to stay razor-sharp while the stint counter climbs. You share the car with teammates, engineers gamble on strategy, and the winner is often the squad that made the fewest mistakes, not the fastest one on Saturday.
My WEC journey brought world championship glory, unforgettable battles through traffic at Le Mans, and friendships that outlast seasons. The 2016 title with Aston Martin Racing remains the highlight: world champions, the trophy on the shelf, and the T-shirts we made to celebrate are still the best-selling item in the shop, racing fans understand sentiment.
On this page I will keep posting WEC memories, race reports from the archive, and stories that never made the press releases: the pit-lane pizza incident, the night shift that turned into a comedy, and what the podium champagne actually tastes like after twenty-four hours without sleep. Buckle up.
